Histopathology at Guy's and St Thomas' NHS Foundation Trust (GSTT) is provided as a seamless service by three semi-autonomous departments; the Department of Cellular Pathology at St Thomas' Hospital, the St John's Department of Dermatopathology at St Thomas' Hospital and the Head and Neck Pathology Department (incorporating Oral and Maxillofacial Pathology) at Guy's Hospital. The laboratory services for all three laboratories are provided by Viapath Llc. The pathology contract for South East London is currently out to tender and this process is expected to be complete in January 2020.

The Head and Neck Pathology Department is seeking a full-time (10 PA) Consultant in Oral and Maxillofacial Pathology to join a dynamic and supportive team of colleagues. The post holder must have a demonstrable major interest in both Oral & Maxillofacial and Head & Neck Histopathology. The department is involved in many exciting initiatives in diagnostic pathology, teaching and research and we are looking for an individual with appropriate skills to complement the teams and keep the service at the forefront of clinical and academic excellence. The laboratory has full UKAS accreditation.

Main place of employment:

This replacement post will be based at the Guy's site. However, it is a requirement of your employment that you be prepared to work at any additional or different location owned or served by the Trust, either on an on-going or temporary basis according to the demands of the service. There are currently no plans to move the service from the Guy's site.
