Psychology within WLT is central to the development and delivery of evidence based packages of care, delivered against NICE guidelines with a range of education and training to be rolled-out alongside the service transformation. Psychology is involved in all planning regarding service development and delivery. The successful post holder will join a large psychology department working across Inpatient services, Crisis Assessment and Treatment Teams, Early Intervention, Recovery, Rehabilitation, Primary Care Mental Health, Eating Disorders and many others. The service has an active CPD programme for psychologists alongside rolling out psychological perspectives on the delivery of care to other MDT staff.
The inpatient teams hold psychological formulation and psychological interventions as central to their pathways and the post holder will be expected to contribute to the development and delivery of treatment pathways within these teams. The trust is committed to developing excellent services and you will be part of a team excited by, and striving for, optimal recovery outcomes for each individual who uses our services. We are looking for someone who has experience working within acute and urgent care or a keen interest in working in a fast paced environment. You will be expected to drive formulation based understanding and to lead teams in developing comprehensive packages of care based around these.
West London NHS Trust is one of the first Trusts in London to put in place coproduced standards of care in its inpatient units. Coproduction puts service users, carers and the public on equal footing with NHS staff, commissioners and local authorities, enabling everyone to contribute from gathering information to the development of these standards. The 21 standards have been developed in partnership with the West London Collaborative and cover 10 different themes, including ward environment, treatment and therapies, staffing and support - a trauma informed approach, family and carer involvement, wards as networks, control and restraint, food and nourishment, education and occupation, arts and legal matters.
