We are delighted to be able to offer this post which will be based at the Hartlepool Community Mental Health Team. The post also includes providing psychological input one day per week into the Liaison Psychiatry service at North Tees General Hospital. Psychology is well established across Tees MHSOP and you will be joining a thriving and dynamic group of psychologists, who will support your development in key roles.
The successful applicate will have core roles in neuropsychological assessment, diagnosis and also in leading psychological formulation with the team. You will also be expected to provide psychological therapy to service users and their families / systems within the team. There are clear dementia and functional care pathways in the division, which the post holder would be expected to work within and support the implementation of. Applicants should therefore have experience of working with people with cognitive problems and concurrent physical health needs, their families and professional carers. Experience of service development would also be desirable.

You will be required to be registered with the Health and Care Professions Council as a Practitioner Psychologist. The Trust is committed to providing support and supervision for continuing professional development. It is expected that you will provide clinical supervision of trainee psychologists and other disciplines as required and to provide and contribute to the development of staff training in the directorate.
Psychology has a strong and rapidly developing reputation within Tees, Esk and Wear Valleys NHS Foundation Trust for supporting organisational change, developing psychologically minded staff groups, and embedding research and outcome measures, within recovery and person centred care philosophies. The post holder will be expected to play a role in supporting the continued development of these factors within this team and the wider directorate.
We provide excellent opportunities for peer support/supervision, CPD, teaching/training, research and audit in line with strategic developments. There are also strong links to the local Teesside D Clin Psy Programme as we are key providers of academic and clinical experience components both in terms of teaching and supervision.
The successful applicant will be professionally led by the Locality Lead for MHSOP Psychology and managed by the locality service manager. The post holder will work across a varied urban and rural area in Teesside and therefore regular travel will be essential.
