Job Description

We are one of the largest specialist mental health and learning disabilities trusts in the country, with an annual income of £320m and a workforce of some 6,700 staff operating from around 100 sites in Durham, Teesside, North Yorkshire and York and Selby. We provide a range inpatient and community services to 2m people living in County Durham, the Tees Valley, Scarborough, Whitby, Ryedale, Harrogate, Hambleton and Richmondshire. We also provide additional specialist services to other parts of Northern England.

We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated Applied Psychologist (Clinical or Counselling to join our CAMHS Eating Disorder Service (CAEDS) The CAMHS Eating Disorder Service provides assessment and intervention to young people with eating disorders and their families across North Yorkshire, York and Selby. It operates out of two hubs in Harrogate and York and provides outreach to Northallerton and Scarborough. The successful candidate will be based within the York hub, but may be required to travel to other localities in order to meet service need.
The successful candidate will be part of an experienced multi-disciplinary team with other clinical psychologists, psychiatrists, nurses, dieticians, therapists and CAMHS practitioners. They would have the opportunity to provide direct assessments and therapeutic interventions as well as provide teaching, training and supervision to other professionals. They would also have the opportunity to contribute to the provision of groups for parents and young p eople and service user participation and evaluation.
Previous experience of working within a CAMHS Eating Disorder team is desirable as well as a desire for further training in evidence based CAEDS interventions.
