Job Description
Employment Officer - Supporting People with Disabilities into jobs with a future
- Location: Dublin North City Centre
- Contract: Full-time / Permanent
- Hours 37.5 hours per week
- €35,000 to €40000 per annum

We are looking for a compassionate, motivated and proactive Employment Officer to join our team.
In this role, you will support individuals with intellectual disabilities, autism, and other neurodiverse conditions to access, secure and thrive in employment opportunities that have a real future.
Key Responsibilities
- Work directly with individuals to understand their skills, strengths and career aspirations.
- Build relationships with local employers to create inclusive job opportunities.
- Provide tailored employment supports including CV preparation, interview coaching and workplace skills.
- Support both the employee and employer to ensure sustainable and positive job placements.
- Collaborate with colleagues, families and community services to promote inclusion and independence.
- Monitor progress and outcomes, ensuring each individual receives person-centred support.
About You
- Experience in social care, supported employment, education, HR, or a related field.
- Understanding of the barriers faced by people with intellectual disabilities, autism and neurodiverse conditions in accessing employment.
- Strong communication, coaching and advocacy skills.
- Ability to develop and maintain positive partnerships with employers and community stakeholders.
- Flexible, empathetic and solution-focused approach.
- A relevant qualification (e.g., Social Care, Psychology, Education, Employment Services) is desirable but not essential.

Essential
- Minimum one year's paid experience of working with either Participants with learning or intellectual disabilities/difficulties.
- Experience assisting individuals into work.
- Experience of liaising with employers.
- Certified Qualification (ideally to degree level) in a relevant discipline
- Ability to demonstrate administrative skills with good record keeping.
- Excellent level of IT (including social media skills), communication skills and presentation skills.
- Clear understanding and articulation of the principles of supported employment.
Desirable
- Proven track record of securing employment for people with barriers to learning.
- Experience of building local networks.
- Experience participating within the quality auditing processes.
