About the Role
We are seeking an experienced General Manager to oversee the day-to-day operations of a peaceful residential and care community in Ballinasloe, Co. Galway.
This is a senior leadership role with responsibility for ensuring that high standards of care, hospitality, and operational excellence are maintained across the campus and related residences.
You’ll lead a multidisciplinary team covering care, facilities, finance, administration, catering, and housekeeping, ensuring a safe, compassionate, and efficient environment for residents, visitors, and staff.
This is a rewarding role for someone who takes pride in creating a culture of respect, dignity, and collaboration, and who enjoys managing both people and complex operations in a values-based setting.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and support a dedicated management and staff team to deliver high-quality care and services.
Ensure smooth, efficient day-to-day operations across care, facilities, finance, and administration.
Oversee property maintenance and development, ensuring safe, comfortable, and compliant environments.
Support staff recruitment, training, performance, and team culture in line with organisational values.
Manage budgets effectively and ensure compliance with all financial, legal, and regulatory requirements.
Collaborate closely with trustees and external stakeholders to plan strategically for the future needs of the community.
Promote and uphold values of dignity, inclusiveness, hospitality, respect, and compassion in all aspects of the role.
About You
You’re an empathetic and results-driven leader who thrives in a people-centred environment. You combine operational and financial acumen with the ability to inspire, organise, and care for others.
Essential:
Degree-level education and a strong record of ongoing professional development.
Minimum 8 years’ experience in a senior management role in Ireland, the UK, or EU.
Proven leadership experience overseeing multidisciplinary teams.
Strong knowledge of operations, facilities, or healthcare management.
Excellent communication, organisational, and problem-solving skills.
High levels of integrity, professionalism, and discretion.
Proficiency in IT systems, including Microsoft Office 365.
Desirable:
Experience in healthcare, social care, or hospitality management.
Financial management and HR knowledge.
Experience within a values-driven or faith-based organisation (not essential, but beneficial).
Full driving licence and ability to travel occasionally as required.
Why Apply?
This is a unique leadership opportunity to make a meaningful difference — managing a well-established residential and care community with strong values and a focus on respect, peace, and quality of life.
You’ll join a supportive team, lead with purpose, and help shape a positive future for residents and staff alike.
If you’re a compassionate and capable leader with strong operational expertise and a people-first approach, we’d love to hear from you.
