Job Description
Job Title: Staff Grade Occupational Therapist -
Job Type: Full-Time agency ongoing contract, 8:00 - 15:30
Location: Limerick
Salary: Aligned with HSE pay scales for Staff Grade Occupational Therapists
Excel Recruitment are seeking a Staff Grade Occupational Therapist to join an Older Persons Rehabilitation Hospital in Limerick city. This is an excellent opportunity to gain hands on experience in Rehabilitation, mobility support, and functional independence, working closely with other experienced clinicians.
Summary:
- Full-time, Monday-Friday position (35-hour contract, 8am - 3.30)
- The opportunity to develop specialist expertise in Older Persons Rehabilitatio
- Regular clinical supervision and strong support from Senior Occupational Therapists
- A supportive and structured MDT team environment, with regular clinical supervision
As part of this role, you will:
- You will be responsible for the provision of a high quality Occupational Therapy service.
- Assess older patients' physical, cognitive, psychological, and social needs.
- Develop and implement person-centred treatment plans to promote independence and maximise functional ability.
- Carry out functional assessments for activities of daily living (ADLs) such as dressing, bathing, feeding, transfers, and mobility.
- Provide individual and group rehabilitation programmes to support recovery and discharge planning.
- Recommend and train patients in the use of assistive devices, adaptive equipment, and environmental modifications.
- Support falls prevention, cognitive stimulation, and functional exercise interventions.
- Work collaboratively with physiotherapists, nurses, doctors, speech and language therapists, and social workers to deliver coordinated care.
- Participate in case conferences, family meetings, and discharge planning discussions.
- Participate in supervision, training, and continuing professional development.
Requirements:
- Be registered on the Occupational Therapists Register maintained by the Occupational Therapists Registration Board at CORU.
- Previous experience working with older adults in an acute setting.
- A motivated professional with a genuine interest in working with older adults
- A team player with excellent communication skills and a passion for working with children.
- A full driver's license and access to your own vehicle.
- Current residency in Ireland with the legal right to work without restrictions.
- Willingness to complete Garda Vetting
- Ready to start immediately
