HVAC, MEP, building services or supply industry
Our client is a leading supplier of HVAC products and solutions, serving contractors, developers, and end-users with innovative, energy-efficient systems based in South Dublin County. Our client's mission is to provide outstanding customer service and top-quality HVAC equipment that meets the needs of both commercial and residential projects.
Our client seeks an Operations Manager to join their growing company, with proven senior leadership experience in operations, preferably within the HVAC, MEP, or building services supply industry.

The role:
The Operations Manager is a crucial component for the smooth functioning and success of our client's organisation. Reporting to the Director, the successful candidate must possess a range of skills, including management and analytical abilities, and be familiar with industry-specific guidelines and regulations of HVAC supply and consultation. Strategic thinking and exceptional communication skills are considered key attributes, along with experience in managing teams and budgets.
Operational Leadership
Lead and manage daily operations across supply chain, warehousing, and logistics.
Ensure efficient stock management, order fulfilment, and delivery to clients in healthcare, education, government, and SMB sectors.
Develop and enforce standard operating procedures (SOPs) to ensure quality and consistency.
Setting strategic goals and making decisions for operational activities to drive the overall growth and profitability of the company.
Planning and monitoring the day-to-day operations to ensure efficient and effective functioning.
Supervising and managing staff from different departments to ensure seamless collaboration and coordination.
Process & Performance Management
Implement systems to monitor and improve operational efficiency and service delivery.
Lead continuous improvement initiatives, focusing on cost reduction, productivity, and customer satisfaction.
Develop and track key performance indicators (KPIs) across operations teams.
Evaluating the efficiency of existing business procedures and implementing improvements to optimise productivity.
Managing the procurement process and ensuring the timely delivery of services and products.
Team Leadership & Development
Build, manage, and mentor a high-performing operations team.
Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and safety.
Oversee training and development to ensure staff are skilled and compliant with regulations.
Communicating policies and directives to managers and staff and fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
Delegating and supporting tasks across the office team.
Acting as a first point of contact for clients, handling queries and resolving issues promptly
Health, Safety & Compliance
Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, industry standards, and environmental guidelines.
Maintain ISO and other relevant certifications where applicable.
Conduct risk assessments and implement mitigation strategies.
Tracking operational metrics and identifying inefficiencies to improve processes.
Supporting compliance, health & safety, and regulatory requirements (e.g. RAMS).
Strategic Collaboration
Work closely with the Commercial Manager and Sales teams to align operational capacity with business growth.
Provide input on procurement strategies and supplier performance.
Support tenders and large project bids with operational planning and resource allocation.
Help drive development of market and competitive intelligence to support business planning and strategy development efforts.
Support pipeline development of high-ROI, high-growth opportunities.
Work with the commercial team to identify and manage commercial and contractual risks.
Qualifications:
2-5 years in a similar role, with focus on HVAC/Distribution/Construction/Building services.
Sound knowledge of Mechanical Services Project Management and a good understanding of the technical, commercial and contractual processes involved.
Strong knowledge of construction methods, building regulations, and BCAR compliance.
Time management and prioritization skills to meet multiple deadlines; comfortable working in a high-paced/high production area and reporting to senior leadership.
Ability to maintain understanding of numerous client protocol & governance processes.
Self-motivated, ability to work independently and drive change.
Bachelor's degree in Project Management, Business, Engineering, or related field is an advantage.
