Excel Recruitment are recruiting an Occupational Therapist on behalf of a Primary Care Team in north Tipperary. The Occupational Therapist would cover Thurles and Templemore or Roscrea and Nenagh.

This is an excellent opportunity to work in a community setting, providing essential Occupational Therapy services to adults requiring intervention to enhance their functional abilities and quality of life.

Role Responsibilities:

• Deliver high-quality Occupational Therapy interventions to adults within the Primary Care setting.
• Conduct comprehensive assessments and develop individualized care plans to promote functional independence in activities of daily living (ADLs).
• Provide intervention in areas such as self-care, mobility, housing adaptations, equipment prescription, and falls prevention.
• Work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team, including Physiotherapists, Speech and Language Therapists, Public Health Nurses, and GPs.
• Supervise and support junior staff, students, and Occupational Therapy Assistants, ensuring high standards of practice.
• Participate in the development and implementation of service improvement initiatives within the Primary Care team.

Requirements:

• Be registered on the Occupational Therapists Register maintained by the Occupational Therapists Registration Board at CORU.
• Minimum of three years post-qualification experience, with at least one year in a relevant area such as Primary Care, Community, or Rehabilitation.
• Strong experience in assessment and intervention planning within a community or primary care setting.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary colleagues and service users.
• Experience in mentoring and supervising junior staff or students is desirable.
• A full driver's license and access to a vehicle are essential.
• Current residency in Ireland with the legal right to work without restrictions.
