Job Description

Job Title: Senior Occupational Therapist (CAMHS)
Location: Mullingar, Co. Westmeath
Contract type: 1 year contract,
Hours of work: 28 hours per week (4 days a week)
Salary: Senior Grade Occupational Therapist scale, at a point in line with Government pay policy.

Excel Healthcare are recruiting a Senior Occupational Therapist to join a CAMHS Multidisciplinary team in Mullingar. This is a 1 year specified purpose contract, 28 hours per week.

This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Occupational Therapist seeking a rewarding, flexible, and impactful role in mental health.

Purpose of the Role:

  • You will work autonomously and collaboratively with team members providing services at clinical bases and within clients homes, as well as a range of other settings as appropriate.

  • You will be managing the Occupational Therapy Service across the CAMHS services, using evidence-based and patient-centred principles to assess, plan, implement and evaluate interventions, which provide patients with the confidence, skills, and coping strategies required for independent living.

  • The OT will carry a complex caseload and will complete occupational therapy-specific assessment & interventions.

  • As part of the MDT, the OT will complete some generic mental health work, such as initial intake assessments, and will hold a key working role.

  • The OT will be responsible for the supervision of a Staff-grade Occupational Therapist.

To be successful in this role, you will:

  • BSc in Occupational Therapy or equivalent.

  • Hold full CORU registration.

  • Have three years of full-time post-qualification clinical experience.

  • Atleast two experience of working within Mental Health, preferably with CAMHS.

  • Demonstrate an ability to manage and develop self and others in a busy working environment.

  • Demonstrate the ability to work independently as well as part of a team and collaborate well with others.
