Title of Job/Grade: Clinical Nurse Manager CNM2 HDU

Reports to: Director of Nursing

Reporting relationships: CNM 1, Staff Nurse, HCA, Support Workers

Type of Contract: Permanent - Full Time

Essential Qualifications

Registered with Nursing & Midwifery Board of Ireland (NMBI) or eligible to register with NMBI

Essential Experience

3-5 years post registration experience in an acute hospital setting

Post Graduate Diploma in Critical Care

Minimum of 2 years management experience at CNM1

Completed a Management Programme or Commitment to undertake a relevant Management Qualification following appointment

Desirable Experience

MSc in Nursing/Management/Leadership

Essential Competencies

Strong leadership and communication skills

Proven ability in the areas of people management, resource management, conflict resolution, problem solving, decision making, change and innovation, organisational knowledge and operational planning

Excellent interpersonal, communication and IT skills essential

Experience of personal and professional development

Knowledge of Quality, and safety management, Patient Safety and Risk management
