Assistant Director of Nursing

On behalf of our client, we are seeking an Assistant Director of Nursing to join a Nursing Home in Cork.

Requirements:

* Registered Nurse with active registration on the NMBI.

* Minimum of 2 years' management experience.

* Post-registration qualification in gerontology and/or dementia care is highly desirable.

* QQI Level 6 in Management or Leadership.

* Eligible to work in Ireland.

* Strong leadership, organisational, and communication skills with a focus on team motivation and continuous professional development.

Key Responsibilities:

* Ensure the delivery of exceptional nursing and social care tailored to each resident's needs. Oversee clinical standards, conduct assessments, and manage care plans to maintain high-quality outcomes.

* Supervise medication administration, conduct audits, and liaise with GPs and pharmacies to ensure compliance with best practices and improve medication management standards.

* Lead and mentor CNMs, nurses, and care assistants, providing ongoing training and development. Foster a professional, caring approach among staff to ensure residents receive the highest standard of care.

* Perform regular clinical, environmental, and medication audits. Develop and implement action plans to maintain cleanliness, hygiene, and safety standards in collaboration with the Director of Nursing.

* Serve as a key contact for residents and families, addressing concerns promptly and supporting a person-centred care approach. Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team to enhance the resident experience.
