Job Description
Snr Speech and Language Therapist – Neuro / Stroke rehab, Co. Louth
Senior Speech and Language Therapist required for permanent position in stroke rehab service, Dundalk, Co. Louth
Working as part of a multi-disciplinary team on-site, as a Senior Speech and Language Therapist, you will also collaborative cross-site with acute services as well as early discharge services.
The role will be based in an 8 bedded specialist stroke rehab unit with a cognitive assessment area and will involve working as part of a well-structured multi-disciplinary team consisting of a physiotherapist, occupational therapist, medical social worker and dietitian.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced SLT seeking to further develop their career with excellent peer support and supervision provided as well as a culture of promoting CPD /research in the service, together with an onsite library.
The unit is well located and serviced by excellent road network, 45 minutes from North Dublin and Monaghan town and 25 minutes from Newry with free on-easily accessible parking facilities, subsidized meals.

Interested candidates should have:
- A recognised qualification as a Speech and Language Therapist and eligible for registration with CORU
- A minimum of 3 years post qualification experience with a significant amount of experience in an acute neurological setting
- Stroke experience
- Dysphagia experience and qualification
- Experience working as part of a multi-disciplinary team and participation in in cross site work
- Experience in conducting Videofluoroscopy is desirable
- Self motivated and the ability to work on own initiative
- Excellent English language written and verbal communication skills
