Advanced Specialist Speech and Language Therapist - Adult Acute and Community, Guernsey

Grade: - Band 7 - £55,579 - £66,124 BAR £68,368 - £73,085 per annum.

The States of Guernsey is seeking an Advanced Specialist Speech and Language Therapist to join their team at Princess Elizabeth Hospital. This full-time Band 7 position offers a competitive salary and benefits package, including a relocation package for those moving to Guernsey. The role involves managing a clinical caseload and providing specialist services to adults with communication and swallowing difficulties in various settings.
KEY CRITERIA:
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
• Degree in Speech and Language Therapy with a Certificate to Practice
• Certified membership with the Royal College of Speech and Language Therapists.
• Registration with the Health Care Professions Council (HCPC)
• Registration with or suitability for States of Guernsey Public Health Department as a
Speech and Language Therapist
• Evidence of post graduate dysphagia training qualification
FULL QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Level C RCSLT Dysphagia competencies.
2. Level 3 RCSLT VFSS competencies.
3. RCSLT Tracheostomy competencies.
4. Knowledge of specialist range of assessment and treatment interventions with
relevant post graduate courses in one or more area of adult acquired SLT e.g.,
counselling, MBSImp, FEES, LSVT, Voice Craft, AAC, dysarthria, dysphasia.
5. Knowledge of alternative and augmentative communication systems e.g., hi and soft
tech
6. Able to demonstrate a range of information technology skills i.e., an ability to
effectively use IT equipment and critical software including Apps for therapy.
DESIRABLE:
7. A minimum of five year’s post-registration experience in adult setting.
8. Experience working with a voice caseload.
9. Experience working with post chemo/radiotherapy caseload and surgical voice
restoration.
10. Level 1-2 FEES
11. Member of relevant SIG
12. Experience as a student practice educator
13. Driving licence
