Senior Neurophysiologist

Senior Neurophysiologist - Outpatient Neurophysiology Lab - Cork City

TTM Healthcare is recruiting on behalf of a leading healthcare organisation in Cork City, Ireland, for a Senior Neurophysiologist to manage their outpatient neurophysiology laboratory.

This service provides Nerve Conduction Studies (NCS) for referred patients, with plans to introduce Electroencephalograms (EEGs) and Home Video Telemetry (HVT) EEGs in the near future. The successful candidate will work closely with a Consultant Neurophysiologist to enhance clinical knowledge and improve patient outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:

* Triage referrals and consult with the Consultant Neurophysiologist as needed.

* Review patient questionnaires and relevant histories prior to testing.

* Apply in-depth knowledge of disease states, medication effects, and clinical changes to ensure high-quality testing.

* Perform high-quality nerve conduction studies and EEGs independently, following established protocols.

* Produce detailed factual reports for interpretation by the Consultant Neurophysiologist, including relevant study notes.

* Obtain standard recordings, assess patient results against normal standards, and escalate significant findings appropriately.

* Perform equipment calibration and maintenance, troubleshooting minor issues and escalating when necessary.

* Maintain accurate documentation in line with clinic protocols and adhere strictly to GDPR principles.

* Train and supervise new physiologists and students in neurophysiology studies.

* Be proactive in developing new services within the organisation.

* Support other functions during quieter periods, such as patient appointment coordination and instructing patients on using home diagnostic devices like Holter or sleep monitoring equipment.

Qualifications:

* BSc in Clinical Measurement or equivalent qualification from a recognised institution.

* Minimum of 3 years' post-graduation experience in neurophysiology, including independent performance of nerve conduction studies and EEGs.

* High proficiency in English (spoken and written).

Salary: €55,000 - €71,000 per annum
