Job Description
The Vhi Commercial Finance Department have a full time permanent vacancy for the role of Finance Business Partner based in Dublin on a hybrid basis.
Commercial Finance is a central group function that provides financial support to all Vhi Group & Insurance entities. This role promotes the provision of financial and commercial expertise and advice through finance business partnering, facilitating the delivery of initiatives that will drive financial performance.
The ideal candidate will have insurance/financial services experience, either industry or audit
Role purpose:
- Provide financial support, earning a place at the decision making table through business partnering to Vhi Group and Insurance functions in relation to strategic, commercial and operational performance matters.
- Work with the wider team to support the development of the annual plan, quarterly forecasts across Group functions while working closely with stakeholders to fully understand the business and provide accurate and meaningful assumptions and business KPI's
- Analyse business performance using competitor, industry, economic and internal data to identify actionable insight which will drive business performance.
- Assist with the implementation and assurance of robust financial and non-financial performance metrics, monitoring, reporting and actioning as required. Identify and implement KPI (quantitative and qualitative) reporting for Group functions
- Support the FBP team to provide guidance and commercial expertise to investment cases (business case / value statement etc) to ensure capital is deployed in areas where economic metrics (payback periods, NPV, return on capital employed, IRR etc.) are strongest and are aligned to strategic priorities across the group
- Support the team to provide guidance and commercial expertise to ensure contractual agreements deliver the greatest value for the organisation
- Support cost containment and value for money across the Group through business partnering ensuring that business units have a deep understanding their operational, investment spends ensuring operational efficiency and the greatest business value is achieved
- Develop and support the delivery of commercial insights to supporting decision making at all levels of the business
- A third-level accounting qualification (ACA, ACCA or CIMA)
- Advanced Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint skills
- Excellent presentation (oral and written) skills
- Proven track record in dealing with stakeholders at all levels in a confident and engaging manner
- Self-starter who can work effectively independently or as part of a team
- Ability to think commercially and approach problems/ opportunities from a different perspective, solutions focused and results-orientated
- A transparent communicator who is able to build relationships with and influence people at all levels in an organisation.
- Demonstrated alignment to the Vhi values.
- Tableau, SQL & VBA experience would be advantageous
- Financial & Statistical Modelling (NPV, IRR, regression analysis etc)
- Knowledge of Irish healthcare market a distinct advantage
- Strong understanding of insurance accounting principles
