Assistant Person in Charge

Are you a dedicated and experienced nurse leader looking to make a meaningful impact in residential care?

We are currently recruiting an Assistant Person in Charge (APIC) to join a nursing home in Tipperary. This role is ideal for a compassionate and motivated professional eager to lead and support a team delivering person-centred care to older adults.

Key Responsibilities:

Support the Person in Charge (PIC) in the day-to-day management and overall operations of the nursing home.

Provide leadership, guidance, and clinical supervision to ensure top-quality care and compliance with national standards.

Act as PIC in their absence, fulfilling duties under the Health Act 2007 and HIQA regulations.

Promote a culture of dignity, respect, safety, and high-quality living for residents.

Lead safeguarding practices and contribute to continuous improvement and team development.

Requirements:

Registered Nurse with NMBI and an active PIN.

6+ years post-registration experience, including 2+ years in a nursing home and 2+ years in a management role.

Postgraduate qualification in Healthcare Management (or willingness to complete it).

Strong leadership, communication, and team-building skills.

Flexibility to work across shifts, including weekends and nights.

Desirable:

Further training or qualifications in Gerontology or Dementia Care.
