Job Description
Excel Healthcare a Tier 2 supplier for the HSE is now looking for a Social Worker to work in Sligo for Tusla Child and Family Agency. As a Social Worker in the Child Protection and Welfare team, you will be at the forefront of safeguarding children and supporting families, carrying out meaningful work that creates lasting change
This is an ongoing contract role, providing flexibility while contributing directly to TUSLA's mission.
Responsibilities of this Social Worker job:
- Undertake assessments of risk and need for children referred to the service. Implement appropriate interventions in line with TUSLA policies.
- Manage a caseload of child protection and welfare cases, ensuring timely and effective responses.
- Work in partnership with families, schools, health services, An Garda Síochána, and other agencies to ensure child safety and wellbeing.
- Prepare and present reports for court as required. Attend and give evidence in legal proceedings where necessary.
- Develop and review child protection plans and care plans in accordance with national standards.
- Maintain accurate, up-to-date records in line with legislation, policy, and procedures.
Requirements of this Social Worker job:
- Recognised Social Work qualification (e.g., CORU-approved).
- Must be registered with CORU.
- Minimum of 1 year post-qualification experience (ideally in a child protection or child welfare setting).
- Understanding of Children First Guidelines, Child Care Act 1991, and relevant legislation.
- Full clean driving licence and access to a vehicle preferred.
