Job Description
Role Summary: To deliver a quality, patient-focused radiographic service, to assist the Radiology Services Manager (RSM) and Deputy in the provision of an effective and efficient service.
Responsibilities:
· Carry out duties under the supervision of the RSM and Clinical Specialist Radiographers.
· Lead in the provision of radiography services in a professional manner.
· Work as part of a multi-disciplinary team in the provision of an integrated patient-centred service.
· Adhere to all departmental imaging protocols; be responsible for the correct identification of patient images.
· Rotate through all areas of radiology as required.
· To take part in on-call service as required.
· Lead in the establishment and maintenance of standards for quality improvement and ensure adherence to existing standards and policies.
· Contribute to the planning and development of the service and participate in service improvements.
· To take part in routine daily inspection of equipment and quality assurance procedures.
· Report any incidents via the Q-Pulse system. Escalating to the Clinical Specialist Radiographer / RSM.
· To keep up-to-date with current techniques and developments in Radiographic and Imaging procedures and to take part in in-service training as required.
· To actively participate in Continuing Professional Development.
· To participate and support research projects and undertake training of more junior or less experienced staff.
· To carry out all other duties as directed by the Radiology Services Manager, Clinical Specialist in area where working.
The Candidate:
· Have the diploma of the College of Radiographers (Diagnostic) or have a Bachelor of Science or its equivalent (Diagnostic Radiography).
· CORU registration
· Minimum of 3 years post qualification experience in a broad range of examinations (General radiology and CT are a basic requirement).
· Demonstrate experience of working with a team of Radiographers.
· Have proven ability to take initiative and work under pressure.
· Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
· Evidence of continuing professional development.
· Have a high capacity for responsibility and individual initiative.
· Flexibility in role and take on additional duties as required.
