Job Description
Job Title: Homecare Manager
Location: Limerick City (Travel throughout Limerick City is essential)
Role Overview
The Homecare Manager will be responsible for planning and implementing initial homecare assessments and care plans for both prospective and existing homecare clients. This role is client- and Healthcare Assistant-facing, with approximately 30% of the working week spent in the office and the remainder in the field. The position involves supporting clients and a team of 30 Healthcare Assistants who provide care.
Key Responsibilities
Oversee the day-to-day operations related to both clients and Healthcare Assistants.
Ensure the welfare of Healthcare Assistants, with support from HR.
Liaise daily with Healthcare Assistants and the Client Coordinator team.
Maintain a clear understanding of HSE and HIQA governance and implement best practices.
Deliver clinical governance data to support a quality assurance approach.
Complete and update care plans for client care as needed.
Assess and prioritize clients’ care needs using a person-centered approach.
Conduct competency skills assessments with Healthcare Assistants.
Build professional relationships with primary care teams.
Develop and monitor cost-effective strategies to enable business growth.
Organize and conduct meetings to support Healthcare Assistants, focusing on actions and outcomes.
Promote a positive work environment and approach to client care.
Utilize IT systems effectively and confidently.
Participate in recruitment and onboarding of new employees.
Support staff through effective communication, appraisals, and identifying talent development opportunities.
Ensure effective team meetings take place every eight weeks, supported by HR.
Communicate and ensure compliance with all operational policies and procedures.
Maintain confidentiality for both staff and clients, in line with organizational policies and legislation.
Continuously pursue professional development.
Ensure compliance with health, safety, and welfare requirements as per policies, procedures, and legislation.
Essential Requirements
Active registration as a Nurse with a valid PIN.
Strong written and oral communication skills, with attention to detail.
Proficiency in basic IT systems.
Proven experience in team management.
Background in Allied Health Care or Nursing Qualification.
Experience in developing and delivering care needs.
Strong leadership and organizational skills, with a willingness to expand skills if needed.
Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work independently.
Experience in community homecare (desirable).
