Qualifications and Requirements

* BSc. in Radiography or equivalent

* Minimum of 3 years' experience in PET/CT

* CORU Registered Role

Responsibilities

* Essential that the appropriate candidate can carry out general and highly complex PET/CT and Radiographic procedures ensuring high professional standards of work are achieved and maintained while abiding by strict current legislation.

* Implement and maintain a quality assurance programme for the Department.

* Regularly liaise with the physicist on safety issues and other operational issues as appropriate.

* Ensure a high standard of patient care is maintained.

* Carry out regular audits in the department to aide quality improvement initiatives.

* Allocate workload to facilitate efficient workflow and maintenance of service user throughput.

* To ensure that the three principles of radiation protection, namely justification, optimisation (ALARA) and dose constraints / limits are adhered to.

* Report any malfunction of defects in equipment to the Radiology Services Manager or deputy.

* Support the Radiology Services Manager in the implementation of initiatives aimed at improving and developing the service.
