Our client an established Hospital in North Dublin wishes to recruit an Associate Practitioner for their Histopathology Laboratory.

In co-operation with the Chief Medical Scientist the post holder is expected to:
* Perform routine laboratory scientific work to the highest standard in accordance with the Laboratory's policies, procedures and guidelines.
* Be responsible to the Chief MS for delivering quality work and carrying out duties in accordance with departmental procedures.
* Assist Medical Scientists and MLA staff with the preparation work.
* Ordering of tests on the laboratory information system (Order Entry).
* Processing samples for external test requests and packaging in accordance with the policies, procedures and guidelines of the laboratory.
* Receive and record specimens, ensuring that samples and request forms are correctly matched.
* Safe operation and maintenance of complex equipment.
* Embedding and microtomy of patient tissue (following training and competency assessment).

Essential Qualifications:
BSc in Biological Science, General Science, Biology or equivalent.

Desirable Qualifications:
Post-graduate studies in a related field.

Essential Experience:
Previous experience working in a laboratory environment.
