Social Worker – community based older persons service, Co Clare

Cpl Healthcare, in partnership with our client a community based social enterprise are recruiting for a full time Social Worker for a permanent position to cover the east Clare region.

Our client provides a range of person-centred support and social services to individuals and families who are experiencing challenges in their lives in the community and in day centres across Co. Clare.

Working in partnership with the local HSE Primary Care team, the social worker will provide services to clients in a variety of settings including: the person’s own home, hospitals, nursing homes, health centres and Day Care Centres.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced social worker with an interest in working in a primary care setting and who is possesses the ability to engage with clients in a variety of settings.

As you will be working primarily on an autonomous basis, you will need to be a self-starter, be able to work on your own initiative and have excellent organisational interpersonal skills.

Role requirements:

·      A recognised qualification as a Social Worker with CORU registration and a minimum of 2 years post qualification experience

·      Ability to demonstrate empathetic understanding of the issues/dilemmas which may arise for vulnerable older people.

·      Ability to complete assessments and prioritise workloads.

·      Ability to communicate (both written and verbal skills) effectively with service users, staff and other statutory and voluntary agencies.

·      Interest in the issues arising for older people and a desire to work with older people.
