Job Description
The Role
Staffline is working in partnership with a private healthcare provider based in Galway & Mayo. Our client provides Domiciliary Care supports for people to meet their physical, psychological, and social care needs in an environment that encourages independence and promotes their rights and well-being.
We are seeking an experienced Health Care Assistant to look after someone in their own home. You will deliver high quality care services carrying out a range of tasks including personal care, companionship, preparing meals and light housework. This is a rewarding role which makes a significant difference.
Primarily, you will be caring and compassionate with a passion for quality and maintaining high standards. You will need to be a great communicator that is professional and highly motivated. You will also need a qualification in healthcare equivalent to at least QQI level 5 and/or have paid experience in homecare. Ideally you have a full clean driving licence with access to a car, though it is not essential.
Person Specifications?
• Must be eligible to work in Ireland without visa sponsorship
• EU applicants are invited to apply
• QQI Level 5 Certification in Healthcare or related field
• Previous experience working as a health care professional preferred, ideally minimum 6 months experience would be desirable
• Driver and have access to a car
• Mandatory Certifications up to date
• Fluent in English
• Meets all competency, experience, and educational requirements in accordance with the company.
• Have up to date mandatory trainings including but not limited to CPR, Manual Handling, Infection control.
Key Responsibilities?
Will be accountable for the following set of responsibilities and expected to assume additional responsibilities as the role progresses in professional development.
• Providing high-quality person-centred care to service users in their own homes in accordance with their support plan
• Providing personal care duties such as washing, dressing, bathing, toileting and medication monitoring and/or assistance with these activities
• Administering medications
• Shopping and meal preparation support
• Supporting with domestic, daily living tasks including cleaning
• Manual handling, using equipment where required
• Promoting service users’ health and wellbeing, independence and enabling them to live their life to the fullest
• Being flexible to work a range of shift patterns including alternate weekends
• Maintaining appropriate records to meet the needs of the service, observing and promptly reporting changes or concerns in your service user's circumstances or condition
