Job description

This is an exciting and highly valuable role within a busy service, providing invaluable assessments to families. The role requires conducting comprehensive diagnostic assessments of individuals with suspected Autism using established diagnostic tools.

Assessments will currently be undertaken to fulfil demand on the private side of our clinic. The clinician is also responsible for writing up assessment reports in a timely and professional manner, as well as providing appropriate recommendations and interventions. Additionally, the clinician may be involved in supervising and supporting junior staff members depending on experience.

Qualifications

BSc in Occupational Therapy or an equivalent CORU registered Occupational Therapy qualification

Must be eligible to work in the Republic of Ireland

Experience in conducting diagnostic Neurodevelopmental/ Specialist developmental assessments with children

Current CORU registered

Experience working with children with neurodevelopmental disorders in a clinical setting

Knowledge of DSM-5 diagnostic criteria and appropriate assessment tools for Autism and learning disability

ADOS-2/ ADI-R trained

Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Ability to work as part of a multidisciplinary team

Experience in report writing and record keeping

The successful candidate will be expected to perform a range of duties as outlined below:

To provide comprehensive Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) assessments in line with best practice guidelines.

To take the lead in managing the assessment and coordinate with other team members including Assistant Psychologists and SLTs where necessary in the completion of assessments.

To provide detailed reports post assessment.

To provide on-going support to clients and their families.

To manage their caseload in an efficient manner.
