Clinical Nurse Manager 1 - Cardiothoracic ICU

Cpl Healthcare are delighted to have partnered with The Mater Private Network Cork to recruit for a Clinical Nurse Manager 1 - ICU. This role is in a brand new Cardiothoracic ICU as part of the development of a new cardiothoracic service at The Mater Private Network in Cork. This hospital has 65 inpatient rooms and multiple outpatient services and is continually undergoing expansion including the delivery of their new cardiothoracic service and ICU in 2024.

The successful candidates will be part of Ireland’s top private hospital networks which includes two acute hospitals, a radiation oncology centre, two day-hospitals and three outpatient clinics located throughout the country. The network delivers the full range of healthcare specialties including cardiology, oncology, ophthalmology, orthopaedic and spine, emergency and out-patient services.

This is a pivotal role in the coordination and management of activity and resources within the department and the successful candidate will promote a culture of open communication and best practice in the delivery of expert nursing care advice and support within the team.

To be considered for the role, interested applicants are required to meet the following criteria:

• Registered general nurse in the process of registering with or on the live register with the NMBI.
• Have a minimum of five years full-time post registration clinical experience, three of which must be within the critical care or related area
• Hold a recognised post registration qualification in critical care nursing or intensive care nursing
• Proven leadership and change management skills
• Minimum three years’ experience in a people management role
• Management qualification preferable or willing to undertake
• Up to date knowledge and experience of theatre practices
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• Demonstrable commitment to patient safety and quality
• Ability to work in a dynamic and intense environment that requires quick thinking and excellent analytical and assessment skills
• Vision of development of service
