Job Description

Senior Psychologist - CDNT

Allied Health Careers is working with a renowned organization that supports individuals with disabilities and their families. As a Senior Psychologist, you will work as a member of the interdisciplinary team in collaboration with MDT colleagues providing services to children from 0-18 years and families who are accessing the Children's Disability Network Team

The Senior Psychologist will provide a range of psychological services as required in partnership with families and other members of the team including assessment, diagnostics, programme implementation and behavior management.

This is a full-time, permanent role, 35 hours per week. Part-time options may be considered

The Role:

  • To undertake assessment, therapy, appropriate interventions and preventative programmes in accordance with the professional competence of psychologists.

  • To carry out Assessment of Need Assessments as required within the designated timeframe.

  • Assessment of children's and family needs, as part of an inter-disciplinary team.
  • The ability to manage and prioritize a busy caseload, and work in an inter-disciplinary way using a family centered practice approach
  • Running parent training courses.
  • Supervision of staff grade psychologists and trainee psychologists may be required.
  • Taking the psychology lead on particular team projects or developments.

The Person:

  • QQI Level 8 qualification in Psychology AND have an Irish post-graduate qualification accredited by the PSI in clinical, counselling or educational psychology or an equivalent qualification validated by the Department of Health.
  • At least 5 years satisfactory post-graduate experience in the area of professional psychology.
  • Demonstrate competence in the area of working with children with disabilities.
  • Understanding of interdisciplinary working, family centered practice and a high standard of suitability for the proper discharge of the office.
