A nursing home in Clare has an opportunity for a Director of Nursing
Job Summary:
As Director of Nursing you will maintain high standard of daily care and activities in accordance with best practices within available resources. Planning, development and management will be your part of your daily responsibilities.
Required:
To qualify for this fantastic role, you must have a Third level Degree in Nursing, be actively registered with NMBI and also have 3rd level Healthcare management qualification. You will also have a minimum of 3 years experience in working with older people within the last six years of your career. You are an experienced people manager of a good character, who enjoys a challenge and takes pride in achieved results

This is an opportunity for nurses who have already worked as a DON, ADON, CNM or had senior roles to take that next step and, with support, manage a nursing home to exceptional standards.
Qualifications:
Registered on the Live Register in the General Division of the Register of Nurses as maintained by the NMBI.
Elderly Care Qualification
Management Qualification
Experience:
Minimum of 5 years elderly care experience, which 3 should be at management level.
Knowledge of the Nursing Home Industry
Have a full understanding of the National Standards for Residential Care Settings for Older People
Have wide general nursing experience and proven leadership qualities.
Have experience/ qualification in /Gerontology.
Evidence of consistent updating of clinical skills and knowledge
Demonstrable coaching & development skills within clinical practice
Competent and confident IT skills
Has worked with or has a knowledge of caring for people with dementia.
People Management
Lead and motivate staff
Keeps abreast of and anticipates staffing needs within departments
Enjoys working within a team
Clarifies individual roles, responsibilities and accountabilities
Leadership
Embraces organisational change and initiatives
Convincingly communicates benefits of change to others
Shows strong initiative; can work outside of standard protocol when necessary
Able to bring new ideas/initiative to fruition
Problem Solving & Decision Making
Able to act quickly to address urgent matters
Demonstrates lateral thinking to generate non-obvious solutions to problems
Grasps how all decisions (both big and small) might affect others.
Resource Management
· Contribution to the effective management of the company's resources (hours : dependency : occupancy)

Ensures most effective allocation and use of resources
