Job Description
Our client, a leading mental health facility, is currently seeking an occupational therapist for their facility in the Dublin Region.
Our client provides treatment, care, and support to adults with severe and enduring mental health needs, including specialist services for Huntington’s disease. The Occupational Therapist will work with residents with severe and enduring mental illness and complex needs.
You will:
- Provide Occupational Therapy Services within a compliant framework,
- Ensure that the highest standard of clinical care in Occupational Therapy is planned and delivered to meet objectives aligned to local and national standards.
- Deliver efficient, effective and economic Occupational Therapy Services within a defined budgetary framework.
- Co-ordinate and supervise peer-support worker activities.
- Be an active member of the Clinical Governance Committee and assist in the development and implementation of strategic and operational plans for Bloomfield Hospital.
- Participate in and work closely with the multi-disciplinary and healthcare team.
- Maintain comprehensive clinical records of assessments, interventions and discussions relating to patients and residents.
- Manage the practice education of student therapists and promote and engage in the teaching/training/support of others as appropriate
You will need:
- Be CORU registered
- Hold a degree in Occupational Therapy or an equivalent qualification, and be eligible for membership with the AOTI.
- Have three years full-time post qualification clinical experience.
- Have established clinical experience in the area of mental health rehabilitation, serious and enduring mental health conditions or cognitive rehabilitation in the area of Acquired Brain Injury.
- Have a good knowledge and experience of health, safety and other statutory regulations affecting a healthcare organisation.
- Excellent communication, negotiation and influencing skills.
- Display strong and positive interpersonal skills, with a proven ability to motivate and lead a team.
