Job Description
Assistant Director of Nursing wanted for an established Nursing Home in Longford. Our client is a purpose built modern 100 bedded facility who are looking for an Assistant Director of Nursing to join them on a full time permanent basis.
This is an opportunity to join an independent home who understands the market and offers excellent support to staff.
Job Responsibilities:
- In the absence of the Director of Nursing, will undertake the role and responsibilities of the Person-in-Charge in line with the Health Act 2007, related regulations and HIQA standards.
- Ensure that overall standards of hygiene and food safety are maintained at the highest level possible
- Liaise with other senior managers in the delivery of housekeeping standards; food safety, quality and choice; maintenance standards; and administration efficiency.
- Participate in coaching and appraisal of staff on a regular basis
- In consultation with HR, participate in grievance and disciplinary activities
- Coordinate, roster and manage staff in conjunction with the senior management team in the Home
- Developing and Implementing Policies: You will be responsible for developing and implementing policies and procedures that govern the nursing department. You will need to ensure that these policies and procedures are followed by the nursing staff.
- Maintaining Records: You will need to maintain accurate records of patient care, staff training, and nursing department activities. You will need to ensure that these records are up to date and easily accessible.
- Collaborating with other Departments: You will need to collaborate with other departments within the nursing home, such as dietary, activities, and housekeeping, to ensure that residents needs are being met.
- Participating in Quality Improvement: You will need to participate in the nursing home's quality improvement program, identifying areas for improvement and implementing changes as needed.
Skills / Experience
- Active NMBI
- Management and Leadership QQI 6
- 2 years Management Experience
- Excellent knowledge and understanding of HIQA
- Excellent Communication Skills
