Job Description
Cpl Foster Care – Fostering Services Manager
This is an exciting opportunity for a Senior Social Work Manager to join a dynamic and growing team.
This role offers the flexibility of remote working with some office-based work. Hours of work are negotiable; between 30 and 37.5 hours per week.
Cpl Foster Care provides a suite of ‘recruit-to-approval’ services to supplement our client’s recruitment and assessment of prospective Foster Carers.
These services operate on a nationwide basis and include:
- Dedicated bespoke Foster Care recruitment campaigns. Manage the screening of applicants
- Carrying out a range of assessments
- Undertaking independent reviews of Foster Carers.
Our team includes a Principal Social Worker and Social Work Team Leader who supervise the assessing Social Workers operating across the country as well as a dedicated administration team offering business support services.
As the service manager, you will be responsible for:
- Devising and implementation of business plans to grow and develop the service
- Overview of the operational aspects of the service to ensure that all work is to a high standard and is in accordance with the Child Care (Placement of Children in Foster Care) Regulations 1995; the National Standards for Foster Care 2003, Foster Care Committees Policy and Procedures and Best Practice Guidance 2017 and the National Assessment Framework for Foster Care.
- Line management of Principal Social Worker (PSW) and Social Work Team Leader (SWTL)
- Allocation of assessments to assessing Social Workers in consultation with the PSW and SWTL
- Client management
- Any other duties as may be deemed appropriate
Requirements:
- A recognised Social Work qualification with CORU registration
- A minimum of five years’ experience in management of a social work service at a senior management level
- An in-depth knowledge of fostering and child welfare
- Leadership and creativity in setting the strategic direction of the service
- Strong commercial acumen with the ability to identify opportunities for the further development and growth of the business
- Ability to work with multiple stakeholders in the context of a complex practice and regulatory environment
- A commitment and drive to perform at the highest level
Clinical/Professional Supervision will be provided by an external professional Social Work Supervisor
Salary: A competitive salary will be offered in line with experience and will be commensurate with the seniority of the post.
