Senior Occupational Therapist

Excel Healthcare is actively recruiting a Senior Occupational Therapist on behalf of our client, a HSE mental health service, North of Dublin City. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Occupational Therapist to join an established hospital dedicated to enriching the lives of those with acute or chronic mental health needs.

This hospital provides both inpatient and outpatient services to adolescents, adults and older adults in a large and restored period building in Dublin 3. The Senior Occupational Therapist will report to the Clinical Director and provide a comprehensive OT Service for the adult inpatient units. While working independently with their own caseload, the successful candidate will also deliver a coordinated approach to service user care in collaboration with the multi-disciplinary team. The ideal candidate will have experience working in mental health services and be passionate about improving the lives of service users.

Job Responsibilities:

• Responsible for the co-ordination and delivery of the adult inpatient OT service
• Assess, plan and implement individualized treatment programmes for service users
• Participate in the integrated discharge planning and continuity of care to the community OT team
• Adhere to HIQA, HSE and local protocols and standards
• Maintain up-to-date training, and participate in continuing professional development

Requirements:

• Recognised qualification in Occupation Therapy
• Active CORU registration
• 3 years' experience at staff grade, with mental health experience desirable but not essential
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to work efficiently independently and as part of the multi-disciplinary team
