Job Description

Project Manager
Job Type: Temporary
Duration: Expected to last till end of April initially with possible extension.
Location: Welwyn Garden City
Remote Working: Available but will be required on site for some days.
Band: 7/8A depending on skill and experience
Pay Rates:
Band 7
PAYE – £19.89-£22.76 per hour
PAYE INC – £22.29-£25.51 per hour inclusive of holiday pay
Band 8
PAYE – £23.40-£26.42 per hour
PAYE INC – £26.22-£29.61 per hour inclusive of holiday pay
Start: ASAP
Working days and hours: Monday to Friday, 37.5 Hours, 9am-5pm
 
Key Skills and Experiences
  • Manage all project resources.
  • Develop all project documentation including project definition and progress reports, covering financial, communication and risk management aspects of the project.
  • Maintain and manage project plans for all allocated projects.
  • Maintain effective project controls, including change, risk and issue management and communications for all associated work streams.
  • Communicate project progress to the Corporate Programme Management Office and governance, in line with agreed project management processes.
  • Ensure the identification, escalation and mitigation of project risks as required.
  • Ensure the project remains on track to deliver outcomes in line with time, cost and quality constraints.
  • Establish and manage the co-ordination of specified project meetings.
  • Attend Quality Improvement team meetings, contributing to the overall development of HCT’s strategy programme.
  • Actively influence, motivate, develop and support key stakeholders.
  • Lead projects to time engaging all key stakeholders to ensure successful delivery.
  • Develop the vision and outcomes for allocated projects, identifying and agreeing qualitative and quantitative outcome measures with the project sponsor.
  • Develop project documentation and plans that take account of conflicting priorities and any internal and external constraints.
  • Develop and deliver any specialist training required in relation to specific projects to staff groups either clinical or non-clinical.
  • Work in an integrated way with finance, human resources and operational teams to ensure an effective co-ordinated approach to the management of the project.
  • Monitor the projects in line with all key performance indicators to ensure that the full benefits are realised.
  • Work with the project sponsor and project governance to effectively manage all change proposals.
  • Provide and utilise specialist expertise, advice and support as required.
  • Work on own initiative with minimal supervision and manage your own time effectively, ensuring that projects remain on schedule.
  • Ensure that full account is taken of all diversity issues and client, partner and commissioners business requirements.
  • Ensure that all duties are carried out with highest possible standard in accordance with quality initiatives within the area of work.
 
Person Specification:
  • Project Management qualification e.g. PRINCE2 foundation or practitioner
  • Clinical Qualification
  • Facilitation training 
  • Coaching/mentoring training
  • Lean training
  • Project management experience
  • Highly developed interpersonal skills
  • Highly developed verbal communication skills
  • Experience of leading change and innovation
  • Experience in developing and delivering training programmes.
  • Good understanding of the NHS Transformation agenda.
  • Good understanding of project and change management approaches.
  • Report writing
  • Demonstrable track record in leading and delivering change projects.
