The successful join a well-established, independent community pharmacy located in Lucan, West Dublin - conveniently positioned on the Co. Kildare border and easily accessible from both counties. The pharmacy has built a strong and loyal patient base over many years. Established in 2002 by the owner-operator, the pharmacy team is known for its personal approach, clinical standards, and genuine commitment to patient care.
The pharmacy team are well organised, led by an experienced owner-operator pharmacist, with the successful candidate enjoying a supportive and engaging working environment from day one.
WORKING HOURS & ROTA
This is a 40-hour per week position with paid lunchtimes included. The rota is structured as follows:

As Support Pharmacist, you will work alongside the owner-operator and the dispensary team to deliver a high standard of pharmaceutical care to the pharmacy's patients. You will be interacting with patients face to face and GPs on a daily basis. Your responsibilities will span clinical, dispensing, and governance functions.

WORKING HOURS & ROTA
This is a 40-hour per week position with paid lunchtimes included. The rota is structured as follows:
- Monday to Friday: Core working days, with the pharmacy open 9:00 AM - 7:00 PM
- Saturday: 1 in 3 on a rotating rota basis, with the pharmacy open 9:00 AM - 6:00 PM
- No late night openings
- No Sunday working
- Bank holidays: 2 per annum, with reduced hours of 12:00 PM - 5:00 PM on both days
Monday to Friday, you will be working within a fully staffed and well-structured team that includes:
- Double pharmacist cover - providing clinical support and peer collaboration throughout the working day
- Two qualified dispensary technicians to support efficient dispensing workflows
- Excellent front-of-shop cover, ensuring smooth counter operations and customer service
As Support Pharmacist, you will work alongside the owner-operator and the dispensary team to deliver a high standard of pharmaceutical care to the pharmacy's patients. You will be interacting with patients face to face and GPs on a daily basis. Your responsibilities will span clinical, dispensing, and governance functions.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Providing clinical oversight of the dispensary and supervising dispensing activities
- Delivering patient consultations, medicines use reviews, and clinical services
- Operating the Touchstore dispensing and EPOS system to manage prescriptions and transactions
- Collaborating with the dispensary technician team to ensure safe and accurate prescription processing
- Advising patients on medications, side effects, interactions, and general health queries
- Supporting the delivery of community pharmacy services and HSE-contracted programmes
- Participating in the clinical governance framework and adhering to all standard operating procedures (SOPs)
- Maintaining accurate records and ensuring full regulatory compliance
- Supporting the development and well-being of the wider pharmacy team
- Covering 2 bank holidays per annum (12:00 PM - 5:00 PM) as part of the agreed rota
Essential
- PSI-registered pharmacist in good standing
- Right to work in the Republic of Ireland
- Strong dispensing and clinical skills with a patient-centred approach
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills - both written and verbal
- Ability to work effectively as part of a close-knit team
- Commitment to ongoing professional development
- Previous experience in a community pharmacy setting
- Familiarity with Touchstore dispensing and EPOS systems
- Experience delivering HSE community pharmacy services
- Independent Prescriber qualification (advantageous but not required)
