Excel Healthcare Recruitment are currently recruiting for a Supervising Pharmacist to join a well-established community pharmacy in Dun Laoghaire.

This is a full-time, permanent position (45 hours per week), offering an excellent opportunity to lead a supportive pharmacy team in a well-established community pharmacy setting.

Job Title: Supervising Pharmacist

Location: Dun Laoghaire

Contract: Permanent, Full-Time (45 Hours)

Opening Hours: Monday to Friday, 9:00am - 5:30pm (Closed Weekends)

Team Structure: Store Manager, Relief Pharmacist, and Pharmacy Technician

Role Overview:

The Supervising Pharmacist will oversee the safe and efficient operation of the pharmacy while ensuring full compliance with PSI standards, pharmacy legislation, and best practice guidelines. The successful candidate will provide excellent pharmaceutical care, support the pharmacy team, and contribute to the continued success of the business.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure compliance with the Pharmacy Act 2007, PSI regulations, and all statutory requirements
  • Maintain the pharmacy to the highest professional standards
  • Deliver pharmaceutical care services and support health promotion initiatives
  • Participate in ongoing professional development and training programmes
  • Implement and maintain pharmacy policies, procedures, and SOPs
  • Manage dispensary operations, stock control, and documentation processes
  • Ensure the security of pharmacy stock, property, and premises
  • Support Health & Safety compliance throughout the pharmacy
  • Maintain confidentiality in all areas of the business
  • Oversee claims and submissions relating to DPS, GMS, LTI, and other HSE schemes
  • Support retail standards including merchandising, stock control, and category management
  • Keep up to date with changes in pharmacy legislation and PSI practice guidance
  • Lead and support the pharmacy team to ensure exceptional patient care and customer service

Essential Requirements:

  • Registered member of the Pharmaceutical Society of Ireland (PSI)
  • Minimum 3 years post-registration experience
  • Previous Supervising Pharmacist experience (1-2 years desirable)
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Highly organised with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a busy environment
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Commitment to delivering outstanding patient care

Salary range

  • €45 - €46 per hour
