Excel Healthcare Recruitment are currently recruiting for a Supervising Pharmacist to join a well-established community pharmacy in Ennis, Co. Clare.

This is a full-time, permanent position (40 hours per week), offering an excellent opportunity to join a supportive pharmacy team in a busy but manageable community setting.

Job Title: Supervising Pharmacist

Location: Ennis, Co. Clare

Contract: Permanent, Full-Time (40 Hours)

Opening Hours: Monday to Friday, 9:00am - 6:00pm, Saturday 9:30am - 6:00pm (Closed Sundays)

Team Structure: Store Manager, Support Pharmacist, and 2 Pharmacy Technicians

Role Overview:

The Supervising Pharmacist will be responsible for the safe and effective operation of the pharmacy while ensuring compliance with all relevant legislative, professional, and regulatory standards. The successful candidate will play a key role in delivering exceptional patient care and supporting the development of the pharmacy team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure compliance with the Pharmacy Act 2007, PSI guidelines, and all statutory regulations
  • Maintain the pharmacy to the highest professional standards
  • Deliver and promote pharmaceutical care services and health promotion initiatives
  • Participate in ongoing professional development and training
  • Implement and maintain pharmacy policies, procedures, and SOPs
  • Manage dispensary operations, stock control, and documentation processes
  • Ensure the security of pharmacy stock, premises, and keys
  • Support and maintain Health & Safety standards across the pharmacy
  • Maintain confidentiality and professionalism in all business matters
  • Oversee claims and submissions relating to DPS, GMS, LTI, and other HSE schemes
  • Support retail standards including merchandising, category management, and stock control
  • Keep up to date with changes to pharmacy legislation and PSI professional guidance
  • Support and mentor pharmacy staff to ensure the highest standards of service delivery

Essential Requirements:

  • Registered member of the Pharmaceutical Society of Ireland (PSI)
  • Minimum 3 years post-registration experience
  • Previous Supervising Pharmacist experience (1-2 years desirable)
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Strong organisational and time management abilities
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Commitment to delivering outstanding patient care and customer service

Salary range

  • €45 - €46 per hour
