Person in Charge / Registered Manager / Clinical Lead



Job Purpose

To provide high-quality, safe, and child-centred nursing care to children and young people living in a residential care setting in Ireland. The role involves supporting children with complex health, emotional, behavioural, and developmental needs, ensuring their health, welfare, and development are promoted in line with HIQA National Standards and relevant legislation.



Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver evidence-based nursing care appropriate to the needs of children and young people

  • Complete health assessments, care plans, and risk assessments

  • Administer medication safely in accordance with organisational policy and best practice

  • Monitor physical and mental health, escalating concerns appropriately

  • Manage chronic conditions and complex healthcare needs

  • Maintain accurate, confidential, and contemporaneous nursing documentation





Qualifications & Registration

  • Registered Nurse with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland (NMBI)

  • Qualification in General, Children's, Intellectual Disability, or Psychiatric Nursing

Experience

  • Experience working with children and/or young people

  • Experience in residential care, disability services, mental health, or community nursing

  • Knowledge of safeguarding, Children First, and child protection procedure

  • Experience in children's residential care services

  • Experience supporting children with autism, learning disabilities, trauma, or complex needs

  • Training in medication management, epilepsy care, PEG feeding, or mental health

  • Experience contributing to HIQA inspections or audits



Hours

  • Shift work including evenings, nights, weekends, and public holidays

  • Full-time and part-time roles available

  • Flexible working hours

Salary range

  • €37,000 - €55,000 per year
