We are seeking a motivated and compassionate Staff Nurse - Cardiology to join our clients dynamic multidisciplinary team. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a leading acute healthcare environment, delivering high-quality, patient-centred care within a specialist cardiology setting.
Guided by strong clinical values and a commitment to excellence, the successful candidate will work collaboratively with colleagues to ensure outstanding patient care through evidence-based nursing practice and effective use of resources.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver high standards of nursing care to cardiology patients from admission through to discharge.
- Assess, plan, implement and evaluate individualised patient care plans.
- Monitor and respond appropriately to changing patient conditions and emergency situations.
- Administer medications and IV therapies in accordance with hospital policies and NMBI guidelines.
- Maintain accurate and confidential patient documentation using approved systems and procedures.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families and the multidisciplinary team using the approved ISBAR handover process.
- Support and mentor student nurses, newly qualified nurses and healthcare assistants.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives, accreditation processes and ongoing professional development.
- Deputise for the Clinical Nurse Manager when required.
The Ideal Candidate Will Have
- Registration as a General Nurse on the live register of the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland (NMBI).
- Minimum 1 year post-registration acute nursing experience.
- Previous cardiology experience desirable.
- Experience working within a multidisciplinary healthcare environment.
- Strong clinical, communication and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent organisational and decision-making abilities.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification essential.
- Advanced Life Support (ALS) certification desirable depending on area of practice.
- Good IT and documentation skills.
