Staff Nurse - Cardiology

We are seeking a motivated and compassionate Staff Nurse - Cardiology to join our clients dynamic multidisciplinary team. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a leading acute healthcare environment, delivering high-quality, patient-centred care within a specialist cardiology setting.

Guided by strong clinical values and a commitment to excellence, the successful candidate will work collaboratively with colleagues to ensure outstanding patient care through evidence-based nursing practice and effective use of resources.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver high standards of nursing care to cardiology patients from admission through to discharge.
  • Assess, plan, implement and evaluate individualised patient care plans.
  • Monitor and respond appropriately to changing patient conditions and emergency situations.
  • Administer medications and IV therapies in accordance with hospital policies and NMBI guidelines.
  • Maintain accurate and confidential patient documentation using approved systems and procedures.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, families and the multidisciplinary team using the approved ISBAR handover process.
  • Support and mentor student nurses, newly qualified nurses and healthcare assistants.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives, accreditation processes and ongoing professional development.
  • Deputise for the Clinical Nurse Manager when required.

The Ideal Candidate Will Have

  • Registration as a General Nurse on the live register of the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland (NMBI).
  • Minimum 1 year post-registration acute nursing experience.
  • Previous cardiology experience desirable.
  • Experience working within a multidisciplinary healthcare environment.
  • Strong clinical, communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent organisational and decision-making abilities.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification essential.
  • Advanced Life Support (ALS) certification desirable depending on area of practice.
  • Good IT and documentation skills.
