Excel Recruitment are excited to be recruiting a Staff Grade Clinical Psychologists on behalf of a Child and Adolescent primary care in Dun Laoghaire.
Dublin South Psychology services are recruiting a full time or part time Clinical, Counselling or Educational Psychologist to work with our Child and Adolescent primary care service.
The Psychologist would be involved in supporting the routine provision of assessment, consultation, triage and therapeutic intervention services for a range of childhood developmental and mental health difficulties. There will be a focus on working with those waiting longest for service as part of a waiting list initiative.
New staff members would join the existing psychology and primary care multidisciplinary team in helping deliver a range of services which include some interdisciplinary team working with more complex cases, Teen and Parent Advice Clinics, group interventions, psycho education courses and individual and team assessment and therapy services.
Staff are colocated with and work alongside other Psychology and multi-disciplinary primary care colleagues. The role will include provision of supervision to other staff.
The Dublin South Psychology service is a small but vibrant psychology service consisting of senior, staff grade, trainee and assistant psychologists.
The service provides lifespan psychological services for mild to moderate mental health issues and in response to developmental queries and needs, including neurodevelopmental, emotional, behavioural, social, relationship and attachment issues.
The service seeks to offer a range of tiered services, operating from a "layered care model' of higher and lower intensity services such as universal and targeted education and support services, standalone consultation appointments, working through others and individual psychological assessment and therapy services - delivered in unidisciplinary and multidisciplinary ways.
The principles of choice, collaborative matching and the support of personal agency underpin our model of service delivery. Our service model has evolved in response to service evaluation and service user feedback, clinical outcomes and evidence based practice.
Supervision will be provided by Principal Psychologist Manager.
This job involves working as part of a Level 2 Enhanced Multidisciplinary team working with children with complex needs and in the wider network areas to support MDT working.
This enhanced MDT consists of Psychology, Speech and Language Therapy, Occupational Therapy, Social Work and a project co-ordinator.
These include: working with parents and young people through MDT consultation clinics, integrated MDT assessment, formulation and intervention services.
The project is also delivering on a new program of universal and targeted parent education and support resources, staff upskilling, the development of some new primary care clinical service pathways, integrated database development, integrated routine audit and service evaluation and an area wide model of enhanced multi-disciplinary working.
Eligibility Criteria:
- Doctorate or equivalent in Clinical/Counselling/Educational Psychology and/or Chartered Clinical/Counselling/Educational Psychologist through PSI.
- Candidates qualified overseas must provide evidence of validation by the Department of Health at the time of application.
- Eligibility for registration with the Psychological Society of Ireland.
- Demonstrable knowledge of a range of Psychological assessment and therapeutic models
- Experience delivering Psychological interventions to children and adolescents
- Excellent clinical assessment, formulation, and therapeutic planning skills
- Excellent Communication and Interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work autonomously and manage a varied caseload.
