A well supported HSE Adult Disability Team in Longford is recruiting a motivated and committed Staff Grade Occupational Therapist to join their multidisciplinary team. This is an excellent opportunity for an OT with recent experience in a similar role who is keen to build on their clinical expertise within a supportive service.
Job Purpose:
The Staff Grade Occupational Therapist will work as part of a multidisciplinary adult disability team, providing client-centred occupational therapy interventions to adults with intellectual disabilities. The role focuses on promoting independence, participation, and quality of life through evidence-based assessment and intervention, under the guidance and supervision of senior colleagues.
Key Responsibilities:
- Carry out occupational therapy assessments to identify service users' needs, strengths, and goals
- Plan, implement, and evaluate individualised intervention programmes to support daily living skills, independence, and community participation
- Apply evidence-based occupational therapy approaches to address physical, sensory, cognitive, and functional challenges
- Maintain accurate clinical documentation in line with HSE standards and policies
- Work collaboratively with families, carers, and members of the multidisciplinary team
- Participate in team meetings, service development initiatives, and ongoing professional development
- Engage in regular clinical supervision and reflective practice
Essential Requirements:
- CORU registration as an Occupational Therapist
- Minimum of one year post-qualification experience, with recent experience working in a similar staff-grade role.
- Experience specifically with complex seating/positioning needs is essential.
- Recent experience in adult disability or intellectual disability services is essential
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team
- Full clean driver's licence and access to a car, as this is a community-based role
