Senior Occupational Therapist – Children’s Disability Service, West Limerick

Senior Occupational Therapist required for community based organisation providing a range of services to children with intellectual disabilities or Autism.

The successful candidate will work as part of a dynamic interdisciplinary school age team providing services, including residential, respite, day, host families, home based, and multidisciplinary, to children and their families in the West County Limerick region.

As a Senior Occupational Therapist, you will:

· Provide assessment and intervention, clinical and performance supervision, and ongoing service delivery in line with the Progressing Disabilities Services.

· Effectively manage caseload demands and waiting lists in the occupational therapy service and to ensure that the needs of the users are being adequately met by the Occupational Therapy service provided.

· Work in collaboration with the other members of the inter-disciplinary team in the planning and delivery of services for children, in particular in the development of Individual Family Centred Plans

Interested candidate will hold:

· A recognised qualification in Occupational Therapist and CORU registration

· Have three years full-time (or an aggregate of three years) post qualification. Clinical experience working with children with intellectual and/or physical disabilities, mental health conditions or sensory processing impairments is essential.

· Experience supervising Occupational Therapy staff grades, OT assistants and/or students is desirable.

· A Full Clean Driver’s License and access to your own car

· Ability to work on an autonomous independent basis as well as a working as part of a multi-disciplinary team

· Enthusiastic, self-motivated and keen to develop professional skills

· Good communication (oral and written) and interpersonal skills
