Specialist - Perinatologist - Wanted for Calgary, Alberta, Canada

We are recruiting a Perinatologist for a major group of clinics in the amazing city of Calgary in the province of Alberta. In Canada, the specialty of Perinatology often describes an Obstetrician who has sub-specialized in managing high-risk pregnancies, complex maternal medical conditions, and fetal health.

In this position, you will focus specifically on the diagnosis and treatment of conditions in the fetus that are pre-existing or new medical conditions in the mother (examples, diabetes, cardiac issues, lupus, kidney disease, high blood pressure, inflammatory bowel disease, genetic disorders, or an autoimmune disease).

You will provide the following services:

• Preconception counselling for underlying health conditions that may lead to pregnancy complications
• Routine prenatal care and testing for high-risk pregnancies
• Managing preexisting or new health conditions in pregnant women
• Using ultrasound or other tests to diagnose genetic disorders or birth abnormalities

Qualifications Required:

• Member of the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists
• Subspecialty program after passing MRCOG Part 2
• CCT

Earning potential

In Alberta, physicians are paid on a fee-for-service model which means you are paid based on the number of patients you see and the treatment provided.

In this position you can expect to earn a gross income of between $400,000 and $700,000 (£200,000 to £350,000) annually.
