This is a full-time, 1-year agency contract (with strong extension potential) offering the flexibility to be based in Cavan or Monaghan, working within a highly supportive and collaborative multidisciplinary team.

Excel Recruitment are recruiting a Senior Clinical or Counselling Psychologist on behalf of a Child & Adolescent Mental Health Service team in Cavan town.

The post holder will be based in Cavan town and will work as part of the multi-disciplinary team. You will have regular clinical supervision. Your leadership style will be based around compassion and inclusivity; you will encourage this in the staff you clinically supervise. You will work closely with the leadership team to ensure the service is resilient and sustainable, with a well-supported team delivering evidence-based interventions.
Job Purpose:
The Senior Psychologist will deliver advanced psychological assessments, formulations, and therapeutic interventions to children and adolescents referred to CAMHS. The role also involves working closely with families and carers, contributing to service development, and providing supervision and consultation within the MDT.
You will be highly skilled and experienced in delivering and developing an evidence-based therapeutic service, with a record of being a compassionate and inclusive leader.
Eligibility Criteria:
- A Doctorate or equivalent in Clinical, Counselling, or Educational Psychology.
- Eligibility for professional registration with the Psychological Society of Ireland (PSI) or relevant body.
- Minimum 5 years post-qualification experience, with at least 2 years at Senior or equivalent level
- Proven experience working with children and adolescents in mental health services
- Strong background in complex case management and evidence-based interventions
- Excellent team collaboration, communication, and leadership skills
- Ability to work effectively within a multi-disciplinary team and to liaise effectively with other professionals.
