  • Provide specialist OT input in areas such as sensory processing, environmental adaptations, assistive technology, seating, daily living skills, and ageing with an intellectual disability
  • Support service users with transitions across the lifespan, including transition to adult services, changes in health status, and end-of-life care
  • Work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team including psychology, nursing, social work, speech and language therapy, physiotherapy, and medical staff
  • Provide clinical supervision, mentorship, and support to junior Occupational Therapists and therapy assistants
  • Contribute to service development, quality improvement initiatives, and best practice within Intellectual Disability Services.

Essential Requirements

  • CORU registration as an Occupational Therapist
  • Minimum 3 years post-qualification experience, with at least 1 year in Intellectual Disability Services, Adult Disability, or a related area.
  • Experience working with adults with intellectual disabilities and complex needs.
  • Strong skills in person-centred practice, communication, and clinical reasoning.
  • Experience providing supervision or mentorship to junior staff (desirable for Senior grade)
  • Full clean driver's licence and access to a car (essential for this community-based role)

  • Access to ongoing CPD, training, and professional development
  • Regular clinical supervision and multidisciplinary team support
