Job Title: Senior Grade Psychologist Adult Mental Team
Location: Churchtown, south Dublin

Contract: Maternity contract,

Hours: Fulltime, Monday-Friday 35 hour week

Salary: HSE Senior Psychologist Pay Scale (commensurate with experience)

Excel Recruitment is delighted to recruit a Senior Grade Psychologist on behalf of a well-established Adult Mental Health Team based in Churchtown, South Dublin.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Clinical or Counselling Psychologist who is passionate about recovery-oriented care and thrives in a collaborative, multidisciplinary environment.

This role offers the chance to combine advanced clinical practice with leadership, supervision, and service development, supporting adults with complex mental health needs while contributing to the ongoing development of a progressive mental health service.

As a Senior Psychologist, you will play a pivotal role within the Adult Mental Health Service, delivering high-quality, evidence based psychological care. Working as part of a supportive MDT, you will provide specialist assessment, formulation, and therapeutic interventions, while also offering consultation and guidance to colleagues.

You will receive regular clinical supervision and be supported to continue your professional development within a service that values innovation, reflective practice, and teamwork.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide advanced psychological assessment, formulation, and intervention to adults with complex mental health presentations
  • Deliver individual and group-based therapeutic interventions, including CBT
  • Support service development and quality improvement initiatives
  • Provide consultation, supervision, and professional support to MDT colleagues
  • Contribute to recovery-focused, person-centred care planning
  • Work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders across the service

Essential Criteria

  • Doctorate (or equivalent) in Clinical, Counselling, or Educational Psychology
  • Eligibility for registration with the Psychological Society of Ireland (PSI) or relevant professional body
  • Minimum 5 years post-qualification experience, including at least 2 years at Senior Grade or equivalent
  • Demonstrated experience delivering group-based CBT interventions
  • Significant experience working with adults with mental health and psychological needs, including in the context of physical health conditions
  • Evidence of ongoing Continuing Professional Development (CPD)
  • Highly developed skills in complex psychological assessment, intervention, and case management
  • Strong ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team
