Job Title: Senior CT Radiographer

Location: Cork

Job type: Permanent, fulltime 35 hour week, plus call.

Salary: Aligned with HSE Pay Scales

Excel Recruitment, in partnership with a leading, progressive hospital in Cork, is delighted to be recruiting a Senior CT Radiographer to join a highly respected and expanding Radiology Department.

This is an outstanding opportunity for a CT Radiographer who is passionate about high quality imaging, patient care, and professional excellence - and who is ready to take the next step in their career within a supportive, forward‑thinking environment.

As Senior CT Radiographer, you will play a key leadership and clinical role within the Diagnostic Imaging Department, delivering exceptional CT services to both inpatients and outpatients.

You will work closely with the Radiology Manager, Consultant Radiologist, and a highly skilled team. You will contribute not only clinically but also to service development, quality improvement, and the ongoing advancement of CT imaging within the hospital.

The department offers a broad, modern imaging service, including:

  • Advanced CT Imaging
  • General & Emergency Radiography
  • Fluoroscopy
  • Interventional Radiology
  • Nuclear Medicine
  • Ultrasound

This role offers the opportunity to influence, mentor, and develop, while continuing to enhance your own technical and leadership skills.

General Responsibilities:

  • Provide expert-level CT imaging services, ensuring the highest standards of image quality, patient safety, and care.
  • Act as a senior clinical resource within the CT service, supporting and mentoring junior radiographers.
  • Participate in service development, protocol optimisation, and quality improvement initiatives within CT.
  • Contribute to out-of-hours and on-call services as required.
  • Maintain excellence in radiation protection, adhering to ALARA principles, local rules, and statutory guidelines.
  • Support QA programmes, audits, and accreditation processes.
  • Ensure effective use of RIS, PACS, and CT systems.
  • Work collaboratively with Radiologists and the wider MDT to deliver efficient, patient-centred imaging services.
  • Maintain up to date knowledge through ongoing CPD and professional engagement.

Eligibility Criteria:

  • Degree or Diploma in Radiography
  • CORU Registration
  • Significant post qualification CT experience in a hospital setting
  • Strong knowledge of CT protocols, radiation safety, and best practice
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills
  • Proven commitment to Continuous Professional Development
  • Experience in a senior, lead, or supervisory CT role
  • Broader experience across additional imaging modalities
  • Experience with on call CT services
  • A proactive, solution-focused approach and interest in service innovation
