Principal Officer – Public Health, Department of Health
The Department of Health works to ensure the delivery of high quality and safe health and social care for the people of Ireland. In addition, it promotes effective and efficient management of the health and social care service to ensure best value from health system resources.
The Department currently has a vacancy for a Principal Officer – Public Health in the Office of the Chief Medical Officer (CMO). This senior level position offers the successful candidate a dynamic, satisfying and varied role, with competitive terms and conditions.
Reporting to the CMO, the Principal Officer – Public Health will be responsible for the management of public health policy and legislation and providing expert public health advice to the CMO. In addition, they will support, lead and create intersectoral partnerships to ensure Ireland has a strong health security competency.
