Locum Paediatric Consultant

Cpl Healthcare is seeking expressions of interest/CV applications for the post of Locum Paediatric Consultant for a specified purpose contract for 6 months commencing 15th of June to cover Maternity Leave.

Located at a teaching Hospital in the West of Ireland, the successful candidate will be part of a large multidisciplinary team, delivering this essential service. There is a requirement to participate in an on-call rota. The successful candidate will be required to meet the objectives of delivering high quality Consultant led Services and to manage and lead a multi-disciplinary team in the delivery of a comprehensive Paediatric service.

This role includes a neurodisability commitment. This involves the assessment, diagnosis and ongoing management for children with developmental conditions and neurodisability, and working collaboratively with multidisciplinary colleagues to support local Children’s Disability Network Teams (CDNTs). There are a number of community clinics which take place outside the hospital setting. The catchment area includes Sligo and South Leitrim. The applicant must therefore be able to travel to provide these clinics.

To be considered eligible you must :

• Be registered in the relevant specialty division of the Irish Medical Council
• Demonstrate appropriate experience and ability as indicated above.
• Demonstrate evidence of effective planning and organising skills.
• Ability to liaise with service providers on a local and regional basis.
• Ability and experience to participate in teaching, audit and research.
• Demonstrate effective communication skills
• Access to own transport in order to fulfill the responsibilities of the role.
• Eligible to work in Ireland
