Healthcare Recruitment

Victoria, the capital of British Columbia, sits at the southern tip of stunning Vancouver Island — a place known for its breathtaking beaches, aquamarine waters, rolling farmlands, boutique wineries, world-class restaurants, and the famous Butchart Gardens.

Even in winter, the island’s mild Pacific climate shines through, with average temperatures around 8°C by day and 5°C at night. Enjoy over 300 sunny days a year and about half the rainfall of Vancouver.

Vancouver Island blends nature, community, and opportunity. With its coastal views, farm‑to‑table dining, and easy pace of life, it’s no wonder this destination ranks among Canada’s most desirable places to live and work.

We’re currently representing Tier 1 clinics seeking both new and experienced general practitioners. These positions offer gross earnings exceeding $500,000 CAD annually, along with:

  • Skilled and supportive medical office assistants
  • Possible opportunities to work within hospitals
  • Encouraging, professional clinic owners
  • Freedom to pursue your clinical interests
  • No home or hospital visits
  • No mandatory 10 minute maximum consultations
  • The ability to choose your patient mix
  • Loyal and deeply appreciative patients

There is also a $20,000 CAD no interest loan for relocation available.

Life Beyond the Clinic

Vancouver Island is vibrant and vast — one third the size of Ireland with nearly one million residents. Here you’ll find a top‑tier university, endless festivals, concerts, and outdoor adventures year‑round.

Explore 128 provincial parks, 33 regional parks, and countless trails that wind through towering forests and along serene shorelines. Go skiing at Mount Washington, paddle the Salish Sea, or spend weekends salmon fishing and whale watching.

From big‑box shopping like Costco and Walmart to cozy cafés, this island offers every convenience of a major city — without the stress.

Many of our recruited physicians now call Vancouver Island home — living in ocean‑view estates, charming forest cottages, or sleek modern condos. With so many beautiful neighbourhoods to explore, you’ll find a lifestyle perfectly suited to you.

Schools

Vancouver Island hosts a variety of public, independent K-12 schools across multiple school districts. The system emphasizes progressive curricula with options like French immersion, ESL support, programs for Indigenous students, special needs services, and athletic academies.

Vancouver also hosts a variety of diverse private schools such as St. Margaret's (K-12 girls), Glenlyon Norfolk (K-12 with gender-separated classes), Pacific Christian (K-12 faith-based), and Montessori programs like Maria Montessori Academy.

They also have post-secondary institutions including Vancouver Island University (in Nanaimo) which offers 100+ programs from trades to humanities.

Other schools include University of Victoria, which is known for its strong programs in research, sustainability and international collaboration and has nine faculties including Engineering, Computer Science, Law and Science.

Ethnic and Cultural Shopping

On Vancouver Island you will find smaller independent ethnic groceries, Indigenous galleries, and specialty food/import shops rather than huge “super ethnic” markets. A few types of places you can expect in larger centres (Victoria, Nanaimo, Courtenay, Campbell River) are:

  • Asian and South Asian groceries (spices, lentils, rice, halal meats, produce, snacks).
  • Middle Eastern/Mediterranean and European specialty shops (olive oils, cheeses, pastries, deli items).
  • Latin American and African import stores in the Victoria area in particular (tortillas, chilies, sauces, specialty flours, ingredients that are otherwise hard to find).
  • Indigenous-owned art and gift galleries, which are a major “ethnic” focus specific to the island: U’ mista Cultural Centre and I-Hos Gallery (Alert Bay/Courtenay–Comox area), Cedar House Gallery in Ucluelet, and similar galleries in Campbell River and other communities.

You will also find many mainstream supermarkets (Thrifty Foods, Save-On-Foods, Fairway Market, etc.) that carry a reasonable selection of international foods, especially in the Victoria region and mid‑island cities.

Religious Worship

Vancouver Island offers diverse religious worship options, primarily Christian denominations alongside other faiths, concentrated in cities like Victoria, Nanaimo, Courtenay, and Comox Valley. Non-Christian options include Sikh temples, Baha’i’ gatherings and Quaker meetings.
