The Role

As an Emergency Room Nurse, you will provide rapid assessment, stabilization, and high-quality emergency care to patients presenting with a wide range of medical, surgical, trauma, and critical care conditions. Working within a fast-paced multidisciplinary environment, you will play a vital role in triage, emergency interventions, patient monitoring, and ensuring the delivery of safe, patient-centred care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform rapid patient assessments and triage using recognised triage systems
  • Deliver emergency nursing care to adult and paediatric patients
  • Monitor, assess, and document patient condition, vital signs, and clinical progress
  • Recognise and respond promptly to deteriorating patients and medical emergencies
  • Administer medications, IV therapies, blood products, and prescribed treatments
  • Assist with trauma care, resuscitation, stabilisation, and emergency procedures
  • Initiate emergency protocols and standing orders within scope of practice
  • Prepare and assist with diagnostic and therapeutic procedures
  • Collaborate with physicians, allied health professionals, and multidisciplinary teams to optimise patient outcomes
  • Maintain accurate and timely electronic patient records and clinical documentation
  • Monitor patients awaiting treatment and escalate concerns appropriately
  • Ensure compliance with infection prevention, patient safety, and quality standards
  • Participate in emergency preparedness training, simulations, and quality improvement initiatives
Requirements
  • GNM, B.Sc Nursing or BSN qualification
  • Minimum 4 years' recent experience in an Emergency Department, Accident & Emergency (A&E), Trauma Unit, or Critical Care setting
  • Registered Nurse registration in the UK, USA, South Africa, New Zealand, Australia, Canada, or Jamaica
  • Strong emergency assessment, triage, and critical thinking skills
  • Experience managing acutely ill and injured patients in a fast-paced environment
  • Proficiency in IV therapy, emergency medications, and patient monitoring
  • Computer proficiency and experience with electronic medical records
  • Excellent written and spoken English
  • Current BLS certification required
  • ACLS certification desirable
  • PALS and TNCC certifications desirable
